Hi - I saw another post about this but now it is gone... any idea of the swim could get cancelled on Sat. They are still saying really high winds and high waves... thank you.

It's Tuesday.....Tuesday not Friday...how would we know what conditions are going to be like on Saturday. I can tell you this WE have never cancelled a swim, yet so don't plan on it this year. Be EARLY and be ready to race.

my apologies - my question was evidentely worded poorly - I was not asking if you could predict the weather on Sat - I guess I was just hoping to get some feedback on if there are specific guidelines as to when you have to cancel - like i f the waves are "x" height the swim has to be cancelled - I was just curious about that since they canceld the St Anthiny's swim...that's all. No need to reply... thanks.

Today is Wed. What if 3 people were eaten by a shark at Ft Desoto today and the shark was not caught by Saturday. Would the swim be cancelled?

My deepest apologies, I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. I thought my question was funny and.........hooray! I wasn't complaining about wetsuits!
I forgot.....this triathlon stuff is serious.

Dawn, please continue to crack me up. But don't get too serious folks. All questions are welcome here, especially from first timers. Given that this swim is far shorter, has less swimmers. and more water safety personal per person than St. Ahthony's, the chances of a cancelation are remote. That being said however, if on race morning the swim director determines that water or shark conditions will not allow for a safe swim, it is their right to cancel. Believe me. If they have to do so, it will be with great reluctance. As with any triathlon, come prepared for anything. Good luck and have a great race.
