Hello Escape Athletes,
Just a quick post to welcome you to the message board. Have a question about the event or the sport of triathlon in general? You've come to the right place. Joe Fernandez and I will attempt to answer your questions about the race and registration, and whether you are considering doing your first triathlon or are a seasoned veteran, this is a great place to post your questions or share your wisdom with your fellow triathletes.
If you are new to message boards in general, a message board basically has two primary features -- you can post a new topic ("NewTopic" button) or reply to an existing topic ("PostReply" button) when reading a topic of interest. That's it.
Please remember that we're running a family show here -- please keep all posts clean and relevant to the event or sport of triathlon. OK, now start posting!

Yes, The Top Gun Triathlon has always been one the best first time triathlons. With 1/4 swim it is one of the shortest in the bay area. Last year we had over 300 first timers.

Is the swim a water start or do you run in? Also, will there be a special start for first timers/relay? Thanks so much!

Swim, is a running start into the water. First Timers start in their age groups, no special treatment.....we will take care of you.

I registered as a "first-timer" - what exactly does that mean? Also, if I would like to change my status to "Age group" is that possible? Thanks!

As for the question.....Frist Timer means First Timer, you have never done a Triathlon, it's not a trick question. |
