There is an article on the internet about Sea Snakes, and I am concerned that there are no measures being taken by Race Management to address these dangerous animals. Can I get a refund if there is nothing being done to protect me?

Relax, There has "never" been a shark or alligator attack in an organized triathlon in history. I have lived here since 1979 and have never heard of a Sea snake attack.. Every statistic shows it is far more dangerous driving to the triathlon than any part of the triathlon. Please don't over think this experience. Just enjoy the life experience. Good luck

i think I've got a better chance at a monkey flying outta my ass than you do at getting attacked by sea snakes.

lol..please tell me you are joking? I am not very comfortable in open water, but even as freaky as I am about it, I love triathlon enough to not even think about it on race day....If you TRULY are that scared there are deadly creatures that may eat you while you are swimming, maybe you should switch to duathlons...just sayin' |

Claire - I think the moral of the story is that you will be fine. put the seas snakes out of your mind and beware of the one guy's trouser snake. I hear they are very poisonous and aggressive this time of year, causing a swelling of the uterus if bitten...
